As a volunteer administered collective, TherapySafetyNet is only able to field a limited number of applications from prospective clients each week. If you have tried recently to access our application for prospective clients and received a message that the application is currently closed for the week, please be patient. We will re-open the application at the beginning of each week. However, if you are in need of more timely assistance, please consider our other recommended community resources.
Eligibility
In the interest of preserving our limited capacity for those uninsured New Yorkers for whom our service is intended, please check your eligibility prior to submitting an application. If you have health insurance, do not live in New York, earn more than $60,000 per year, or are unable or unwilling to provide proof of income in the form of your most recent tax return, you will not be eligible for TherapySafetyNet. If you are not eligible, please do not apply, as you may be preventing an eligible person from receiving help.
Enrollment in Affordable Health Insurance to Begin October 2013
We have also noticed that many prospective clients are unaware of the availability of affordable health insurance, including mental health benefits, through the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Enrollment in affordable health insurance plans will begin in October 2013. Please visit healthbenefitexchange.ny.gov to learn about the affordable benefits that will be available soon to currently uninsured New Yorkers.
