IF YOU HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE

Many people are unaware that their health insurance includes coverage for psychotherapy. By law, health insurance companies are required to provide comparable benefits for mental health that they provide for physical health, with only a few exceptions.

Health insurance coverage makes psychotherapy affordable for most people because you are only responsible for a specialist copayment and sometimes a deductible.

If you are insured by Healthy NY or certain GHI plans, you may be one of the exceptions who does not have mental health coverage under your insurance plan. If so, please go ahead and complete the prospective client application.

If you are insured by any other insurance plan other than Healthy NY or GHI, you do have mental health coverage. Although you will not be eligible for reduced fee services through TherapySafetyNet, you may be interested in those participating clinicians who are in-network for major insurance carriers, as listed below.

Contact us by email if you have insurance and wish to be referred to one of the clinicians who accepts your plan. Please bear in mind, if you have health insurance you will not be eligible for sliding scale services through TherapySafetyNet.  You will be responsible for any deductible and copayment as determined by your insurance policy.
